Blood work, Prayer Hands, Gene Kelly, More Signing

ALEXANDRA,

You still sick, your are coughing and coughing. You get some energy and about 2 hours later you are really down. You took a short nap this afternoon and got up coughing really bad. I am not sure what it going on but I decided to request a chest X-Ray and blood work. It was about 3:15 when I decided to take you. Your Pediatrician is Dr. Bankston, famously known as "Dr. B", she actually comes on the 9 news every 3rd Saturday of the month giving advise . The Baton Rouge Clinic, is about 35 to 45 minutes from here so we had to rush there. You did great, the x-ray was a breeze, you follow directions really well. I have to say that I was a bit nervous about the blood work. The called us in and you could see the faces of the lobotomist when they saw a 2 1/2 year old child. It look like they were debating who it was going to do the blood work. You sat on my lap and they proceeded to tie the "rubber band "on your arm. Step by step I was explaining to you what was happening and what would happen. For example I said, this rubber band will make your veins show", these are your veins and they have blood in them, you will see what blood is in a minute. How many veins do you see?, now they will place a needle in your vein and this will draw your blood out. Look the needle has like wings...what does it look like a dragonfly or a butterfly", anyway you were super brave, your jumped a little when the needle when in but after that you saw very carefully the whole process and didn't cry AT ALL! As we were getting close to 5 o'clock, another lady came by to make sure they had lobotomist had drawn your blood, she came with a "hurry up" attitude, to her surprise we were DONE! she was amazed as to how quiet you were, and when I said if you wanted ice cream or a sucker as a treat for being good, they said "Girl! I think dis gir deserves both". We are very proud of you. When dad was little he had to get a lot of blood work done and grandma said that you acted very much like him. Such a daddy's girl.

Yesterday you also received a thank you card from the staff of St. Elizabeth Hospital signed by all the people that took care of you there, so impressed with the whole experience.

This morning on your own, you grabbed your bible put your prayer hands and said a short little prayer "Thank you Jesus for all the people, Amen".

Besides the Nutcracker Youtube videos, you now also like some tap dancing videos such as Singing in the Rain, Good Morning, and Moses Supposes with Gene Kelly.

SAMANTHA,

You are so much fun and supper easy going. You love to eat and it has been confirmed that you eat more than Alexandra. I am glad as you were so little when you were born. You are catching up fast. Now is like you are becoming alive. You are signing "all done", "Gorilla", "baby", and you know where your head is and where your belly is. So cute. When Alexandra watched the Youtube videos you like to sit there and move at the rhythm of the music.

So what's the verdict from the x-ray? Hope she feels better soon. Happy Easter.
