Carter Plantation,
Two Halloween parties,
It was so nice. Alexandra enjoyed going to the doors saying "trick or treat". She kept unwrapping lolly pops and passing them to me to try the next one and the next one. Our friend Angie let us used her golf cart so we went around the neighborhood after stopping on a few houses. As you will see in the pictures, Alexandra dressed as a ladybug but for the two Halloween parties she didn't want to. She was not really into dressing up, I guess she already knows what she wants and honestly we didn't want to push her. At this age what really matters in my opinion is spending time with the family and have fun in the process. Samantha went along for the ride, she is really too small to know what is going on so we just covered her up really well and played with her in the golf cart.
I enjoyed so much doing things with our girls, however sometimes I have the impression that I am the one wanting to do things when they may just want to hang out at the house. I think it is time to slow down a bit. Both girls have been sick with runny nose for about a week now and I believe they need the rest. The weather has been incredible so we also had to take advantage of it.
Alexandra's birthday is next Saturday we are looking forward to that, I cannot believe she will be 2!
Updates
Alexandra almost 24 months

Her memory and communication skills are pretty good. I am not sure what prompted this but she started to say "Go USA" at the dinner table and I remember that we said this during the Olympics, then I asked her if she remembered who won in the swimming competition (as she would answer or even remember) to my surprise she said "Michael pelps" i cannot believe she remembered, granted they are still some commercials with Michael in them so maybe that helped to stay fresh in her mind!
I started to pay more attention and I now realize that Alexandra knows and can sing the chorus of about 30 songs. She can also identify different instruments in a song, such violin, flute, guitar, etc. She has also started to ask 4 to 5 word questions such as do you like beans mom? or is the bunny outside today? Alexandra still likes to put things in her mouth, and it drives me crazy, you would think that after almost two years I would be used to it but not, it still gets to me. Her cuspids are just coming out so maybe that is way she still does it. Sleeping patterns are not the best yet. She still wakes up in the middle of the night one to two times, plus she wakes up around 5:30 or 6:00. We are being very patient with her as we know this is not going to be forever and we have faith that she will grow out of it.
Samantha 6 months
Samantha is a very easy going baby, she has her bed time routine down. Around 7:30 she likes to take a bath and as soon as she is out of the bathtub, she likes to have milk and is ready to sleep after that, around 8. She gets so fuzzy coming out of the bathtub that is almost as she cannot stand being awake another second longer. It is very good for us because we know what to expect. Yesterday we took out the Jumperoo and she likes is a lot and she figured it out right away. She could be there for 20 min no problem, the same as tummy time. Alexandra didn't like it at all, so it is interesting to watch. Consequently Samantha is just starting to sit up whereas Alexandra was sitting up well by 5 months.
