After a very dificult couple of days we finally made it to Mexico. We were scheduled to arrive on the 29th, however Alexandra got sick. She had very high fever for 3 full days starting on Saturday, then she could not eat at all, I decided to check her mouth and sure enough lots of white spots in there. The diagnosis, stomatitis!!
Sunday - Fever of 102, went to urgent care not able to travel until Tuesday. Diagnosis, Stomatitis!
Monday - Still 102 fever even with motrin. Scheduled appointment with Dr. Bankston to confirm dignosis. Pediatritian indicated that we could travel but it would be best not to for 48 hrs postponed our trip until Wednesday morning.
Tuesday - Still not fully packet yet, Alexandra better but not able to eat AT ALL and fever of 101. At this point we were not sure if we were going at all.Cam with escrutiating back, and hand pain, taking pain medicine, something he never does. Then I decided to run some errands that were going to have to wait until my return. Since Alexandra was not able to take a nap and she needed the rest, I decided to take her to the post office with me. About a mile down the road, Alexandra felt a sleep, so I decided to turn around, turn around on a small dirt/MUD road...can you guess what happened next? I GOT STUCK in mud, the good news is that Cam was at home and I was very close to the house. When I started to look for my cellphone...NO CELLPHONE (something I never leave JUST IN CASE I needed !!!). Very few cars on the road, and the few that went by were big old trucks, old white vans, or very old Cadillacs!!! Until finally I could see an Acura sedan!!! never been so glad to see a car like this as I like american cars...So I flag the car, and the gentleman waves back at me and keeps going! until he realized I was stuck in the MUD with a very sick child asleep in the car with the sun beatting down on her side of the carseat, just lovelly!!! As you can imagine I was not stressed AT ALL, not able to leave to Mexico, a sick baby, and now this!!! what else...well...The gentleman let me use his cellphone, I called the house and NO ANSWER, neither the house or Cam's cell...then the Gentleman says..I can take you home!!! By that time he had informed me that he was building a house in Pelican Point and that he was an Architech ( an possible a serial killer!!!) just kiiding, he was very nice and I fely comfortable...my choice of car was a good one. Then I had to decide SHOULD I STAY OR SHOULD I GO NOW!!! And I did, he took Alexandra and I home. Then with pain and all, Cam had to pull the car out of the mud. The good news was that our neibor's brother helped cam to get it out.
Wednesday - Finally fever down to 98, on our way to Mexico. That night, we of course, started to celebrate New Years. dancing, and incredible Pozole. Unfortunately I could not wait any longer and had to go to bed early, around 3 a.m. Everyone else, including Cam, went to bed around 5 am. Alexandra and Samantha went to bed around 9 but got up around midnight. After all we had a great time.
