Coming Home

My dad's side of the family

So much to talk about...We had a great time in Mexico, everyday we did something fun. We got to see most of my dad siblings and some of my cousins. My young cousins that I remember so little are now "BIG" and dating. It was so nice to see my grandmother meet her great granddaughters.
I was able to see one of my cousins that I had not seen in over 13 years. She is now 33 and beautiful, and her brother is older like me (or a bit more ja) and married to a wonderful wife, Argelia, and with 2 incredible handsome and well behaved kids, (Victor 6 and Santiago 5...crazy, they are only one year apart!!). Everyone was so wonderful to us.

I have to say that after not had been in Mexico for about 4 year and now with two little ones I was a bit afraid of what everyone hears about Mexico. Kidnapping, killings, bad food, etc. but I felt very safe. The City is super clean and you see police officers around. Some of my friends that live in the city that used to live in the outskirts of Mexico City say that they feel safe. Of course you have your bad neighborhoods like in any other place. We do have problems with the drug cartels that are getting each other killed and unfortunately some innocents are getting killed in the process. The current president, Felipe Calderon, is trying to do some good things but it will take some time.
